Newsletter - April 2017

Madrid, March 17th, 2017

Greetings

You will never know how excited and how much I desire to write this newsletter to you! Many great thing have been happening last few weeks, really fast, and it is hard to know where to begin with… By praising the Lord!

“It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night” – Psalm 92.

One of the best things in life is love. God’s love over everything, and also how it is shown in our lives with undeserved gifts. And the greatest and biggest of these gifts to me was Elisabet. She is a precious girl, with a very big and friendly heart, and lover of her people.

During these holidays, as I went to visit my family in Barcelona, I prepared a date with Eli, in which I asked her to marry me. And she said “yes”!

We both want to ask you to pray for us and this time of preparing everything so we can marry. That you pray for us to have a good personal and couple growing time during this period as a future marriage.

And she said “yes”!

I would like, after telling you all that is upper, to summarise the prayer topics here:

  • To be able to serve correctly in every place, and to be humble, specially working in the different projects.

  • ICEA’s project.

  • My wound to heal completely.

  • To show the gospel in a correct, clear and comprehensive way.

  • For the souls who meet Jesus.

  • Wisdom for I can apply all what I study at Sefovan and do not forget it as just theory.

  • Thank God for all what He does.

  • For God to continue providing all what students need.

  • My ministry contract and, specially, our new project.

  • The different ministries:

    • Social work at ICEA: Aluche is giving food to the needed people every Tuesday on the morning, and they can also hear the Gospel.

    • OnTheRedBox®: From Monday to Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. they share the gospel in many different ways at Puerta del Sol.

    • Barajas Biblical Church (IBB): An important testimony point that is slowly growing in a place where there was nothing.

    • Sefovan evangelism campaigns: During summer, Sefovan worked with different churches at Madrid and fruits can be seen now, as there are lots of new believers who are growing while they are part of a church

Prayer topics

Farewell

I love to get to the end of my letters and think about all what God has done and everything I can share with you, and knowing that you are this and praying for me. Thank you, because God is answering. I wouldn’t be able to fill these sheets with so good news if it wasn’t because of what God’s doing.

Blessings,

Josuè Blasco Vernedas.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9 NIV

ICEA

And we will work on communion with new encounters focused on the different groups of the church, such as men’s breakfast meetings or more marriages encounters. As I told you, that’s a nonstop time!

Please, pray for us when starting every activity and every new step, but also for the people who are getting to know us.

We are moving on the project – this is a nonstop time! Before going on holidays, the third forum of M4 Spain took place in Guadalajara. There, we took the needed decisions to continue and make the project to progress. This time we have been centred in communion, discipleship and prayer, both in the team and the whole church.

M4 - Discipleship, creative prayer and communion

In addition to all the activities we have towards out-of-church people, some things we have not developed as much and we are going to improve are people’s discipleship, which begins before they become Christians; prayer at church, and communion.

To do this, we will start with meetings dedicated and focused on non-yet-Christian people in which they will receive their discipleship. Also, we will do prayer services with a different tenor, by changing the format but not the content, so we can get rid of the topic that praying is boring, and by that take out walls in personal prayer.

At M4, related with ICEA’s project, and also in a more personal level (RelacciónATE project) I was given the opportunity of joining the church planting network in the European Leadership Forum with a scholarship, which will take place in Wisla, Poland in May 20th to 26th. I want to thank the Lord for his provision of the trip expenses and the other part of the Forum.

Pray for it to be a useful and practical learning time in every moment so I can employ it in these projects.

Pasover holidays

This Passover holidays, in addition to enjoying free time and family time, I had the opportunity of preaching in my hometown’s church. It is a small church in a small town and after a very long time it is growing in conversions and maturity. But the sad thing to say is rivalry between churches because they have no sense. I want us to pray for them and their project, and for God to continue working with them in the new building that He has provided them to stay in.

YouVersion

I do not know how many of you do know YouVersion, the Bible App, but everything is done by volunteers. After a long time working on the team, I have taken the team leader position on the Spanish of Spain team. It is a very gratifying job, because you make God’s Word available in many places and for many people that wouldn’t be able to have it otherwise. But it does need its time and a great dedication.

We need more people in the team to translate from English into Spanish and doing it with excellence. Pray for wisdom to lead the team and to translate.

RelacciónATE

This past week we were in Barajas neighbourhood in Madrid preaching the Gospel to some kids through games that were about the values of confidence, effort, comradeship, knowing to listen to the true voice, and obedience.

At the end, we could share the Gospel with a group of boys and girls that already have some knowledge and they knew us from other times.

From left to right, up to down: You'll get further with help; Trust God, he never fails; Obeying carries good results; Even it's difficult, don't surrender; To get the goal, listen to the correct voice.

How can you be part of the projects?

Imagine being part of a project. You do not have time, but there is another way of being part of them: by praying for this all, for everything that I do and we are doing, and also, supporting me economically. Why? Because everything has its price, and I need to be able to carry on without the worry of not knowing if I will be able to continue studying, if the project will continue, or if I will be able to continue help my church.

The easier way to do it is contacting me, both for a punctual help or a partnership, or though the page Support me on this webpage.
